Three Wheeled Buggies

MFM reviewer Kath tested this buggy with the newborn baby as well as a child who was 3 wheeler strollers years old and found it to be extremely sturdy. It was able to handle cobbles, grass and rough pavements, as well as dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said that "it is sturdy to push and very solid when you're on rough terrain. Some three-wheeled buggies feature swivel wheels on the front to help you navigate tight corners. Others are designed to run and have fixed wheels that lock for greater speed and stability. This also helps in the event that you hit a tree root or stray kerb as the front 3 wheel double buggy will lift up to keep you from hitting it.

The downside of having larger wheels is that they make some buggies quite wide and may struggle to squeeze through narrow spaces. This can be an issue especially if you're using it to an exercise bike or to to get through doors that are narrow when out and out and about. Luckily, most models have compact folding options that allow you to take off the front wheels to make compact storage.

Easy to Manoeuvre

One of the major advantages of a three-wheel buggy is that it is much easier to maneuver especially with a child in the back. They are designed to ensure that the front wheels turn on a dime, and are easy to navigate, making them ideal for challenging terrain such as parks, cobblestones as well as bumpy roads and dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried an all-wheeler with her toddler. she said: "The Terrain is a pleasure to drive on uneven terrain. The front swivel wheel was particularly useful." I was also awed by how well it coped with the kerbs, particularly when using the brake operated by hand. I found it extremely stable when going downhill or on uneven ground."

The only downside to this great maneuverability, is that the larger wheels of the 3 wheel jogger wheel buggy might make it difficult to squeeze into tight spaces. This is something you need to be aware of when your home is a city. If this is an issue then a four-wheeled buggy might be a better option for you.
