WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for the latter due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. The item level upgrade used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new gear. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which displays an item's preview when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current item level. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Crests

Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used on gear of a specific rank, and each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade item is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade can require up to 20 crests, contingent on the type or gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing tasks at the appropriate level. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to use them properly. For instance it's Best item upgrade to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning on making. This is particularly relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
