Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to a stronger base. Items with bases that are strong, such as the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute benefit, or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as a reward from missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will need to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade stats as well as the required component or materials.

There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but have higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are connected to, for example adding a Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component the item will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from the previous versions in a few fundamental ways. Gear is now categorized in tracks and each Best item upgrade can be upgraded as many times before it is "leveled out." The cost for upgrades is increased with each level however the materials required don't increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a select few items and maximize the effect of these items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This will allow the item to receive upgraded components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if an upgrade item fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it is able to get an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available depends on the item's base. For instance an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes to choose from and a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade step will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level and what slot it is located in. In general, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.

If an item does not reach its max level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and costs the same amount of materials, though it will have less chance of success.

To measure the height of a building, engineers will use a level to compare the measurement to a known reference point like a benchmark, or the elevation of the ground. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and the level, then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of changing an item's upgrade components. It is a crucial element of the game and can boost the damage, strength or other characteristics. This can be done through the item menu or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be used sparingly.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than other items. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be either good or bad, depending on what you're looking to get from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may come with a bonus that boosts the item's power by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are offered into the standard affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the higher your chance of obtaining the bonus of a different kind.

The game also includes several sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on an Best item upgrader. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a particular character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the early stages of the game. This is because rerolling could offer a quicker path to a powerful character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged differently. They can have various sizes, contain no elements at all, or have a single element. They are useful for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.

There are a range of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, while some aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense value and set bonuses. However, weapon upgrades often do not boost the stats of the item when as compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade in the event that your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already large.

Certain set items are upgraded to take advantage of their own unique functions which can be useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to the same level as their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the necessary items needed to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the requirements for upgrading specific items.

Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. The armor that has a new appearance will benefit from this upgrade as its defense value will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
