Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components

An upgrade item is a special item that will make certain Pokemon develop. The upgrade can be obtained by spinning a photo disc and can be offered as a reward in Pokemon GO events.

Upgrade components

Both are able to be removed and then reinserted.

Insignias, enchantments, and prefix/suffix upgrades will be displayed in the hover display of the item while they are added to the equipment's name (e.g. an Radiant Insignia would change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). The number of upgrades that are added to an item will be displayed in the tooltip for the item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are special characters that can be inserted into an OpenType font to add functional or decorative elements such as ligatures, ornaments, fractions and swashes, registered trademark symbols and ellipses. The Glyphs panel lets you look up and insert these unique characters along with normal glyphs, such as em dashes and en dieshes, registered trademark symbols and glyphs that do not appear in other fonts (such as dingbats).

Each Glyph gives a character a boost in primary stats. It also includes up to four Secondary Stats that affect the radius of the glyph on your Paragon Board. Secondary Stats are a percentage increase which is multiplied once other bonuses are applied except for Speed Glyphs which directly increase the speed of the hero.

The Glyphs in your inventory can be activated by selecting them, and then clicking the "enchant" button. This will open a new window showing the Glyphs you have available that can be applied to the selected item. You can only apply the appropriate Glyph to the item you have selected. Every weapon or jewelry piece comes with a distinct collection of Glyphs.

You can increase the level of Glyphs by working through Tree of Whisper Quests or Nightmare Dungeons. The more challenging the dungeon, the greater the amount of Glyph experience that you will earn. Once a Glyph attains level 15, it is upgradeable at the Glyph Upgrade Altar. The radius of the Paragon Board grows by one node every 15 levels that a Glyph is upgraded.

When a Glyph is at the desired level, it is possible to activate it. Select it and click the "enchant button". The Glyph that is created will grant its stated bonus, and also boost other nodes within its radius on the Paragon Board. Glyphs should be put in areas that will benefit your build the most.
