If you can't find the button, take a look around the now-uncovered manual key access for the lever or slot that is hidden.

Closing the Windows

One of the hidden features on Volvo key fobs is that you are able to roll down all of the windows instantly by using the fobs. This is a great feature when trying to squeeze into a tight parking spot, or even simply when you want to get some fresh air in your cabin while driving.

To do this you need to press and hold the unlock button on your Volvo remote for four seconds. This will lower the windows and the sunroof, if there is one. When you're done with your car you can shut the doors by pressing the lock button again for four seconds.

You can also set off the panic alarm inside your car by using the key fob. This will produce the alarm sound loud enough to draw attention and discourage thieves. It will also assist you to get home safely even if you've been out for the night. This feature is useful for those who live in a dangerous area or wish to keep your family safe when you are away from home.

Lay out your key fobs as well as batteries and additional keys on a clean surface. Place the key fob in a place with the Volvo logo facing upwards and then locate a tiny black button to the left side of the fob. Slide it downwards and to the right. The cover will begin to loosen and fall off and reveal the mechanical key blade underneath.

Press the button for unlocking the key fob two times quickly, and you will be able open all doors and the tailgate. The lock button also closes the windows and the sunroof (if equipped) by pressing it for two seconds. Reconnect the battery, and the alarm will stop. If not, the owner's instructions should include a reset option.
