Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed an exclusive key case to commemorate the brand's centennial. Made from Dark Stained Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a flying "B" paperweight, a set keys as well as a brochure with never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics

This is evident in the precise placement of its quilting, the use of leather made from products of cattle, the wood from sustainably-managed forests, and the unique patterns of its levers. As you approach a car like the Continental GT W12, its sculptural beauty is displayed through carefully curated lighting.

The Continental GT is Bentley's most sophisticated open-top car. The rear tonneau, for instance, featured the largest piece of dark-stained, book-matched Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to the production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

It is this unique design, craftsmanship and attention to detail that has established Bentley as the world's most desirable automotive brand. The firm continues to push the boundaries with the latest technology and craftsmanship, including the introduction of an instrument cluster with digital technology with an electric tilt-opening back glass sunroof, a handcrafted docking station for Apple iPads, and electrochromic "smart" glass that can be changed between opaque and Bentley Continental key fob transparent with the push of one button.

A century after its creation, Bentley - now under sole Volkswagen ownership following years of wrangling with BMW - celebrated its centenary in the year 2019. The marque planned a number special events and launches to celebrate the occasion prior to when planning for a pandemic became a top priority.

Design

Bentley is famous for its extravagant and lavish cars however, even keys are designed to make a statement. The Bentayga Key is constructed of sterling silver and features an enormous B' logo to let everyone know that you drive a Bentley. It's also engraved with the years 1919 and 2019 to commemorate the company's centenary.

The Mulsanne was redesigned and redeveloped by Bentley Mulliner to become the ultimate Grand Touring car. It features two opposing pairs of rear seats modelled on luxury private aircraft that provide passengers with unbeatable comfort and privacy. A custom heating, air conditioning and ventilation system has been designed to ensure each passenger has the perfect climate control setting.

The Mulsanne is equipped with a twin turbocharged 6.75 litre W12 engine with 560bhp, and 479lb-ft of torque. This amazing power is coupled with a new suspension that gives Bentley's famously smooth ride.

In celebration of its Centenary, bentley key price introduced a specific specification that is known as the Centenary Specification for cars built in 2019. The cabin is equipped with cross-stitching and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are embroidered with Centenary Gold, adding to the sense of celebration. Function

The Bentley Mulsanne Key comes with two buttons one of which opens the trunk, and the other that starts the vehicle. The key also includes a switch to turn on the parking brake. The knob can be used to fold or unfold the mirrors when parking in a tight space. This feature helps you get into and out of your vehicle.

Each key takes two days to create. The key is cut by hand, then shaped, stitched to seal, and polished to give a superior result. It is compact and strong and will fit the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is reminiscent of the Volkswagen Phaeton's big car key, yet it feels more substantial and premium.

Secure-A-Key is also available to prevent keyless entry theft. This device is inserted into the remote-control key fob and will shut it off after a few minutes of inactivity, preventing thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices that can unlock and start the vehicle.

Bentley's unique design is a reflection of the values of the company, which include fine craftsmanship, engineering expertise and modern technology. The headquarters in Crewe are home to more than 4000 employees responsible for the development, design and production of Bentley vehicles. These workers apply the skills that have been passed through generations to modern automotive technology. This is British manufacturing at its best.

Personalisation

Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to essentially design their own car. The "mood station" lets customers pick images that inspire them. These could range from picturesque vistas to sporting events. Every time a choice is made, the pattern that emerges shows the model preference for color, style and design for the customized Bentley.

The guests are given keys made by hand, which contains the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. The keys can also be fitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps that illuminate the door's opening path with the owner's name, or emblem as they arrive at the vehicle.

Bentley says it takes roughly 500 man-hours to design and assemble the average Mulsanne. One of the main reasons for that lengthy effort is a deliberate refusal to embrace modern tech. The Crewe factory workers do not make use of a machine to create perfectly-matched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. Drivers must park their vehicles manually, not using sensors built-in to guide them into parallel and perpendicular spots.

The event also saw Bentley presented its Mulliner personalization capabilities by presenting one of a kind of the Mulsanne W.O. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays homage to the founder William Osler Bentley. The limited edition cars are available in 100. one key that features an image of the 1930 8 Litre's crankshaft.
